Release Date, Price, Where To Get

LeBron James not only has made his undeniable mark on the court, but he’s continuing to collect more infinity stones for his off-court cultural impact. The legendary basketball player’s legacy will be immortalized as the first male athlete with an official Ken doll made in his likeness, which is set to release this month.
The figure was created as a part of Barbie’s Signature Kenbassadors collection, which “celebrates influential Ken figures who are creating positive change and contributing to a better world for all.”
The collector’s item will be available at select Target stores and online at Target.com, Walmart, and Mattel Creations on Monday, April 14, at 12:00 AM ET. Priced at $75, it will also be listed on Amazon as well. This date coincides with the release of the first Black Barbie doll created.
Every detail was carefully crafted and considered as the doll possesses many attributes to the Akron, Oh., athlete’s life story. The figurine is wearing a blue and white varsity jacket with “LJ” on the front and “Just A Kid From Akron” on the back. There are also various patches repping his foundation and his home state. The outerwear is complemented by a t-shirt reading “We Are Family,” black-and-white houndstooth pants, and a pair of Nikes to finish off the look.
“As a young kid, I was fortunate to have role models who not only inspired me but also showed me what’s possible through hard work and dedication,” said James via press release. “Now, as an adult, I understand how vital it is for young people to have positive figures to look up to. That’s why partnering with Barbie to release the LeBron James Kenbassadors doll is such an honor. It’s an opportunity to recognize the powerful impact of role models who instill confidence, inspire dreams, and show kids that they, too, can achieve greatness.”
For fans looking to be among the first to grab the doll in person, the UNDEFEATED store on La Brea in Los Angeles is hosting a US-exclusive drop on Saturday, April 12. A limited number of LeBron-signed dolls will be available for purchase ahead of the official drop on April 14. Doors open at 11:00 AM PT on April 12.
Fans of the four-time NBA champ were thrilled with the news as the reactions started pouring in. “Grown men will get these sold out ASAP,” one person on Instagram joked. Another person praised Mattel designers for doing a great job with recreating Bron’s look, writing, “& they actually made him look good. I love this. You know they’ll be making us look crazy as dolls and wax figures.” One person provided a critique, pointing out the shoe choice. “Dunks instead of LeBrons is a lost opportunity,” they wrote.
The father of three is currently locked in as the race to the playoffs continues. The Los Angeles Lakers are currently 48-30, with their next match up taking place tonight (April 8) against the Oklahoma State Thunder.
